My approach to web design.
What is proper web design? This can be a debatable subject, and similar to other artistic media it can be subjective. There are many approaches to a web design, but there is only one true focus of all web site designs .... “It is for someone to view and read, to learn about you or your company or buy your products” .... sounds simple right?
Lets break this down to some of the basic “pre-design” concepts that are needed in order to create a successful web site:
* Is the site for person or company use?
* Will it be graphic intensive?
* Will it use Flash animations?
* How many pages will it initially have?
Now that we have that out of the way, lets get into a more detailed breakdown.
From a clients point of view, you need to decide on some basics:
* A color scheme (what colors do you want)
* Content (what you want said and conveyed to a viewer)
* What images or graphics do you want on the site
From a designers point of view, there are many options to consider, both Pre and Post design, here are some of the basics:
* Layouts (columns, headers, footers, etc)
* Ease of client use (how the client can edit or update it)
* What formats to use (HTML, CSS, XHTML, FLASH, Tables, etc)
Here at eToolConcepts we believe less is more, by less we do not mean “lack of content” or “graphics”, by “Less” we mean, easy accessibility, ease of usage, and easy for the viewer to understand.
